Over the past day, the area of forest fire in Siberia has increased from 7,000 hectares to 30,000 hectares, more than four times.
The main area affected by fire is in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (15,000 hectares) and the Irkutsk Region (13,800 hectares). In these regions, a state of emergency has been introduced.
Governor of the region Viktor Tolokonsky spoke about measures to help fire victims. So, on May 25, all victims who lost their homes will receive a one-time compensation of 50 thousand rubles. People were temporarily placed in a local hotel and college dormitory, the issue of free meals is being addressed.
In total, 130 houses burned down in the region, where 533 people lived before the start of the fires.
